myriad of the mundane

12.23.2005

alright, all, i'm posting from home. not from washington home but from my original home here in denver. first time in a while, eh?
just went skiing today. and not the pansy alpine style, mind you, i went nordic. i'll say that i'm much better at nordic because i've been doing it longer. today my dad and i conquered an easy black diamond route up the hill a few hours. it was fun, the snow was powdery and it was cold and windy. perfect conditions. our tracks were almost gone by the time we got back to them. it was a great time and i didn't fall once. booyah!
other than that it's been baking, chilling with friends and trying to make sure gabe keeps his mitts of my girl. the latter is proving to be trying at best so i'm going to take a break from seeing him.
for a "best friend" he sure does try to get in her pants a lot...
maybe that's a compliment?
more on all these things later.
until then, have a great christmas or whatever as long as it isn't kwanza (for all you who have no idea what that is, it's a holiday that african-american studies teachers made up in the 70s so that they could have their own holiday; nothing traditional or african about it even though that's how it sounds.)

  • hes trying to get into her pants?rubbish.its all HER fault.
do any black panther types celebrate kwanza nowadays?
enjoy the snow (you lucky bastard) and maybe consider getting a new best friend.or maybe relegate him to 'long term friend'.

  • hey hun, how are you? have a great time, too! we spent christmas in the car yesterday. how lame is that?!? in the car! with no presents. in south-western colorado.
but you make sure to enjoy her while she's still somewhat lucid, aye? with the MIL and all that it may be difficult but i have faith that you'll pull through and have a holiday to remember.

yeah, geezer, he's kinda long terming it right now. but my other best friend won't lay off the military talk. wiskey tango foxtrot, mate? grrrrrr. i need to find some hippies to hang out with. but the kind that wash themselves.

  • The MIL has worn herself out so Mr. Sumo made Mexican food for us all. That's what their X-mas is every year...tamales and the like. I've made them with her, so when she's gone I'm the tamale maker from then on. I made lots of candy...she likes the candy. (but she 'never' eats sweets...wink wink) I'm taking her to the Doctor tommorrow...she may be released to drive...I hope not though... she's weak...and rather feable minded. I know she hide that from the Doctor though. It certainly is interesting around here just the same.

  • that's always nice, though. and at least you have tasty stuff. we had pizza hut pizza for christmas. delish!
and i really think that old folks just shouldn't drive. they have no peripheral vision. i've almost been hit by old folks every time i go down to edmonds. it's frustrating that they're still on the road. i know that they cause at least as many accidents as teens so that's one thing to say aobut it.

  • Happy New Year sugarpuss! Be careful, you and Sara...don't party too much or the old folks might find you on the road!

  • Well, was it as much fun as you'd hoped?

  • first up, sorry for being such a slacker. i've been in a dour mood with the internet, eschewing it for good books, working too much and knitting. among other things like actually starting up doing yoga again. now i can't remember why i stopped in the first place, it's great.
but happy new year to all! you know, ten days late and all that.
safe-t, it was pretty lame overall which i think plays into my not really wanting to see people right now. i did too much socializing and now i've got to spend some time decompressing. but the skiing was awesome!
