i just went ahead and purchased a 4.5 oz. gravity filter so that i can shave some serious weight off of my water filtration needs for backpacking. still going to be using my MSR for any colder weather trips because it still works great and it's way better for just straight camping, too.
past that...i've got to learn how to frikkin sew!!
i really do. mayhaps i'll just go ahead and call diana myself to see when she has time to teach me. because i really want to be able to carry a very small amount of stuff when i go out backpacking/traveling this summer.

my life is pretty plain. oh, state of the union!
i'll watch it and let you all know what's going on there. i didn't have a TV last night so i couldn't watch it.

haha. i was blissfully in a place without TV so i watched the first 25 minutes and decided he wasn't going to say anything at all useful to preparing the U.S. to remain a leader of the free world. basically he wants to make sure we stay the way we were in 1945 or so: president is always right, oil will last forever, don't worry about the environment it'll take it like your housewife and for god sakes kill something you good-ol'-boy!!
