myriad of the mundane

you want to see something dreadfully wrong with the american political system? just look at this! the christians are worried that miers won't rule like a christian on the bench! are they fucking off their damned rockers?!?!? it's not a legislative body, it's the supreme court! they don't make decisions based on their personal faith, they make them based on the law and how it should be interpreted!!!!!!!!!
fucking idiots!
there is a time and place for faith in the public sector. i do appreciate that people believe what they do, it leads to charity and good works. however, it is the very first thing that the bill of rights states: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion. Congress can't make the law, it's unconstitutional and thus the court must strike any such law down. the reason, you ask? why because the men who wrote our Constitution saw the damage that the Anglican church was doing by being a politically active body. same way the catholic church behaved in the dark ages. they kept humanity back for a hundred years in suffering and darkness. think about it. the greatest scientists of the renaissance were condemned as heretics and were persectuted against by the catholic church. and why? because they didn't fall in line.
this country does not need a theocracy. would any of you like the idea of someone who didn't have your ideas of faith telling you how and what to believe? then don't do it to the rest of us.
empathy is a thing that makes this country work and now half of us seem to have put that down for the judgmental bent we're seeing now.
just because i can't justify believing in a God that i've never seen, felt or proved logically doesn't mean that i don't think about it. i've thought long and hard about it. i was raised christian and have since found that "christian" behavior in today's society is completely the opposite of the loving, tolerant and gentle values they espouse in church. you can't call yourself a christian for going to church every sunday and putting on the face of being this nice, loving, god-fearing person and then go out and tell people that they're going to hell because they don't agree with your exact views. that's a great example of twisting the faith. so stop it!

  • Sites like this don't come around very often. You have a great site. I was thinking about a new blob for my employee payroll cards website. What do you think?

  • i just have a problem with people presuming to tell me how God thinks. maybe they're going to hell for taking judgment out of his hands. they can't know for sure so they shouldn't force all of us to deal with their crazy asses.

  • the benefits of a love of philosophy, perhaps. to be honest there are a lot of things that don't make sense in the Bible. like war, for instance. basically it's something where God says that the ten commandments are bullshit for a year or so. thou shalt not kill means nothing for a while. and i know there are reasons to go to war but i don't think that it's something you should do offensively. defend yourself, don't hit somebody for no reason.

  • Interesting! Couldn't have said it better myself! They all need to sit back and drink a hot steamy cup of shut the fuck up! Fanantics. There are so many more important things to be a fanatic over than religion. It should be in a person's heart and not so much on their lips. Everyone's heart doesn't feel the same. And I just don't get why they don't know that!!!!!!!!!! MoRoNs!

  • haha! i love you guys!
to be fair they've got their beliefs and i'm sure they make sense to themselves but they don't make a lick of sense to me.
and for folks who say they want us to follow the word of the constitution they're convienently forgetting about the part of it they don't like.
    happens to liberals, too.
    like with the 2nd amendment.
there are plenty of arguments for why it shouldn't be there but if it weren't what would be stopping bush from becoming a dictator? not much, to be frank.
good to see that you all still read here, though, at least.
posting with pictures of my new bike coming tomorrow, i promise!
