myriad of the mundane

8.11.2005

i've been on this absolute kick for classical the past few weeks. that and leonard cohen and bright eyes. i don't really know why. right now i'm playing some of the best piano ever written. it's rachmaninov. i'm pretty sure that's how you spell his name. like neitchze it's impossible to know it you've just gotten it wrong like i think i did there or not. and i'm terrible at speling. just ask sara. terrible at spelling.

anyway, we've got one day of clinical left. i'm excited and yet i think that i'll miss my residents a lot. they're really great people and interesting. that's what you get when you put a few thousand years of experience into one building. one of our gals used to teach classical piano, he daughter does teach and play and her son in law is a drummer. another guy is the uncle of the drummer for Death Cab for Cutie. they'll have a new album out, by the way, in a few weeks here. comes out Aug. 30th. sara has hinted that it would make a great birthday gift. i'm so tired even my creative juices aren't flowing right. yesterday i had only 83% oxygen concentration in my fingers. that's what they call dangerously low... and so we've proved, once and for all, that i have terrible circulation to my fingers.

i'm getting close to finishing a knit hat for later in the year here. it'll be cold enough for it in no time. sad, really, that that's going to be the case.
i took a nice dip into the Sound yesterday. it was cold as hell after the freezing. but it was fun on the whole and i'm looking forward to my next dose of briny goodness.
and i've found a word today that i didn't know: qat. evidently it's a currency or something, lol. saw it on the scrabble board earlier.

sorry to have been such a stranger to you all but i've been too tired to even deal with much other than sleeping, eating and working. i can't wait for sleeping in tomorrow. by sleeping in i mean 8 a.m. but that's beside the point. it's still a bit more sleep that last night.

and now i will leave you to ponder what will become of man's obsession with space now that our manned vehicles are failing. think about that for a while. we're doomed to actually having to care and conserve what we have on this planet. i know, i know, "GASP!!" but you realize that it's going to be a big shock to some folks. i'm looking at the SUV drivers *cough cough*
that is all, gaylords.
