myriad of the mundane

7.19.2005

well you all know that i haven't been in the bush camp for a while so i understandably took great pleasure in the stat that his job rating has slipped even further than the last time i checked it. the terrorist attacks in london did nothing for him and in fact might have hurt his terrorism standings as there are more and more attacks in the old world and iraq. i expected him to gain a little ground after london because a lot of people find that he's reassuringly "tough on terror." granted this is a foolish view since he's failing at a war against an idea. gee, couldn't have told you you couldn't kill ideas...
point is he's down to a 44% approval rating.
Why? because he's not percieved as honest by most voters. and why is that? because they lied about Rove's involvement with the case of Valerie Plame! you'd think that after all this preaching of their religious values they'd know that one of the commandments was "thou shalt not kill," that another was "love thy neighbor as thyself." and what have they done to everyone? well we'll say that they have failed both commandments. ironically that's one of the best grades that bush has ever gotten. i mean, 8 of 10...not bad...that's good enough for an ivy league school...

  • 8 out of 10? Are you kidding? Mystery you are slipping...you're giving this guy too much credit. I'd say he scores even lower on that scale boyo! If I haven't made you sick of it all yet...I have a lot of stuff boiling on the ol' site that may amuse. And of course some stupid stuff just to dumb it up for some friends. Heh heh!

  • maja! i'm just working the front line. it's retail. but it's retail in a store that i spend too much money in on a regular basis so it's like home already, lol. and since it's outdoorsy i basically know the ethics and ideals of the company. leave no trace camping, knowledge and authenticity. basically it's like Boy Scouts meets corporate america meets super duper campfire co-op. so i'm loving it. i just bought a new shirt by mountain hard wear, a pair of cool-max socks and a pair of heavy duty backpacking socks. just he little things i've been missing, lol. next is a bike. then a shell. then maybe a new pack and tent...the list goes on. there's just too damned many toys.

sumo, you always make me laugh. still, i am giving bush the benefit of the doubt about his scholarly endeavors of late. he didn't do well at yale but that doesn't mean he hasn't picked up a few tricks. i mean, he might have sold his soul for the presidency AND a brain...

  • Bush and brain are not synonymous!
